Quick Tip
Show your child how to "pinch" one nostril with her index finger while she blows through the other nostril.

If she finds it difficult to blow through her nose, have her close her mouth as she blows.

Quick Tip
Remind your child that washing her hands helps keep her from getting sick.

Learning Games

Puffs: Sniffle SOS - Learning Games

Your little ones require extra-special care. Good thing you can count on Puffs to be there! Our fun learning games will help you prepare.

Game #1: Race to the Finish

You and your toddler can "race" by using your noses to blow small pieces of tissue across a table. This helps her learn to blow through her nose, not her mouth.

Game #2: Birthday Candle Blowout

Toddlers love to blow out the candles on a birthday cake. To learn how hard she needs to blow, ask her to "blow out" an imaginary candle with her nose (instead of her mouth).

Game #3: Easy As 1-2-3!

Teaching your toddler to blow his nose doesn't have to be a struggle. Simply follow our three-step strategy, or try one of our fun games. For a soft, gentle touch, practice with one of our preferred Puffs products.

  1. Blow
    • Blow gently so you don't hurt your ears. Use a soft, clean tissue.
    • Hold the tissue with both hands.
    • To help clear mucus from both nostrils, blow one nostril at a time.
    • Wipe your nose (and just underneath your nose) with a clean section of the tissue.

  2. Throw
    • Toss the used tissue in the trash.
    • Never put a used tissue in your pocket.
    • Never drop a tissue on the floor or the ground.

  3. Wash and Go
    • Wash your hands with soap and water.
    • No water? A liquid hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes can help.
    • Dry with a clean paper towel. You're ready to go!
